I’m Katie and I’m based with my family in Guernsey, in the Channel Islands.  I’m mum to three children (12, 10 and 5) and one crazy, exasperating yet adorable spaniel.  I’ve always loved words, languages  and books and I’ve discovered a love of feature-writing.

Guernsey is a great place to be a family, so I thought I’d blog about it! I’m new to this blogging lark, but I plan to write about days out, attractions, inspiration, things to do with children here and anything else vaguely connected with being a family in the island.  I’ll be reviewing things too, so if you offer something for families in Guernsey (and it’s quite a broad theme) then please contact me if you’d like me to do one for you.

Hi There. I am by no means an expert, but a good first port of call for researching Guernsey genealogy would be the Priaulx Library – info@priaulxlibrary.gg – as they hold many records there. It’s located in St Peter Port, Guernsey, and they have a website. Good luck!!

Hi, I happened upon this blog when browsing the internet. I don’t live in Guernsey, but we’ve been visiting every summer for more years than I care to remember (around 30 I think!), always staying at the same place, so much so that we are almost beginning to feel like locals. We will be visiting again this year end July/beginning of August. Meanwhile, I’m looking forward to reading more of your blogs about our ‘home from home’.

PS I write a blog too, about random things. Would it be ok if one of those random things is Guernsey after our holiday? Don’t want to tread on your toes!
